Dear Parents and Caregivers,

The Arts Prefects did a great job of organising our end of term Arts Assembly which was held on Tuesday.  We had a variety of performances, from singing to a dance performance.  We also awarded the first Academic Double Blue to Amy Jones, recognising her achievement in being awarded Top Scholar in New Zealand for her scholarship submission in NCEA last year.  Amy will be presented her award at a ceremony in Parliament next term.

A jubilant U15 Coxed Octuple Sculls team who won bronze at Maadi Cup

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

I am delighted to inform you of the updates to our staff for term 2. We have appointed Miss Karla Dunn to the position of Teacher of Chemistry and Junior Science, following Mr Pacey’s resignation.  Miss Dunn has taught Science and Chemistry at Papatoetoe High School and Porirua College.  She is an enthusiastic, vibrant young woman  with an Honors Degree in Chemistry and we look forward to welcoming her on to the St Hilda’s staff in Term 2.

Other staff changes taking place next term surround Mrs Barron’s sabbatical.  Mr Daryl Shields will be taking Mrs Smith’s 9INTS class as she focuses on her Acting Assistant Principal duties and we welcome Mrs Ella Murdoch back who will be taking Mrs Smith’s Year 11 English class and Mrs Maw’s Year 13 English class, as well as her 9INTS class.
