Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Tonight the girls are putting on their final performance for Suspect! A Murder Mystery.  I hope you have managed to get along to see the show, students and staff have put a considerable amount of time into preparing for the show and the end result is wonderful.

Bishop Kelvin led our end of term Eucharist Service on Monday.  Thank you for all the thoughtful donations for Anglican Family Care – they are most appreciative.

The Arts Prefects put on a wonderful Arts Assembly on Tuesday.  There are so many talented students at St Hilda’s and it is always a treat to see them perform.


The Junior and Senior Academic Programmes have been updated and are available for you on the student and parent homepage.  Please take the time over the holidays to look through these with your daughter in preparation for Options Selection.

The girls have made some wonderful friends during their time at St Hilda’s. We wish them the best for their future.

A reminder that payment for NZQA Examination fees is due on Wednesday 17 August.

Good luck to all the girls competing at the South Island Secondary Schools’ Swimming, Rugby and Junior Netball Championships during the school holidays. We look forward to hearing results.

Student Achievement

Madrigal are one of 24 finalists selected from more than 200 competing choirs around New Zealand to attend The Big Sing National Finale which will be held in Dunedin in August.

Olivia Gain, Georgia and Kate Heffernan and Bella James have been named in the Otago Sparks wider training squad, along with Old Girls Caitlin Blakely and Polly Inglis.

Sarah Langsbury has been selected as one of 10 Ngāi Tahu taiohi (rangatahi/youth) that will go to Silicon Valley, San Francisco in October to attend a five-day science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) boot camp.  At the boot camp the taiohi will take part in design workshops and meet leaders from companies like Google and Facebook. The Senior A Netball Team is holding a Cooking MasterClass FUNdraiser at Tolcarne on July 29 at 7.00pm in the Dining room.  Tickets cost $15.00 each and includes a night of cooking, fun and food.
